Demand equal protection for LGBT students! (HRC GenEQ)

Constance McMillen’s story shows just how hard it can be to be growing up lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) in America. So do stories like that of the 16-year-old in Constance’s town, kicked out of school for being transgender. Or the 18-year-old in Texas kicked out after he was attacked for being gay.

Though it’s illegal for public schools to discriminate against students based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex or disability, LGBT students get no explicit federal protection.

The Student Non-Discrimination Act would change that. Write your Congress members today and tell them to pass this law!
