This week, the Senate is expected to pass a budget and decide whether to bar all federal funding for Planned Parenthood health centers. This could be our last chance to protect this crucial funding.
The legislative assault on Planned Parenthood over the past two months has been worse than anything I’ve ever seen. Anti-choice lawmakers are dangerously close to cutting millions of women off from birth control, cancer screening, HIV testing, and other lifesaving care.
We need everyone who has ever found care at a Planned Parenthood health center and everyone who cares about women’s health to stand with us now. Over 800,000 women and men have signed the open letter to speak out against these outrageous attacks, but that may not be enough. Your senators need to hear from you directly.
The anti-choice members of Congress who forced through the bill to cut funding for women’s health were crystal clear about their goals. They want to shut down every Planned Parenthood health center in the country — even if that means cutting off millions of women from care they have no other way to afford.
It’s up to the Senate to stop this assault on Planned Parenthood and women’s health — and this could be our last chance to make sure they do.
Speak out now — demand that your senators vote NO.
We can’t let this single-minded assault on Planned Parenthood go any further. We must stop it now, in the Senate, or millions of women could pay a terrible price. You know how important Planned Parenthood is to the women, men, and teens who rely on us — now it’s time to make sure your senator knows, too.
Thank you for standing with us now and in the coming weeks as we do all we can to stop these outrageous attacks.
Cecile Richards, President
Planned Parenthood Federation of America
