say it; you never know who is(n’t) listening.

you are not alone
you never were
even when you didn’t know it
even when you were not lonely
we were here

even when we were silent
even when we were scared
locked up put away afraid to say
we were here

here is waiting to know you
waiting for you to decide
to speak to be
here is welcoming
you as you are

you are not cursed
you are not diseased
you are not dirty
you are not perverted
you are not broken
you don’t need to be fixed

and even when you feel
unsafe unloved unknown
misunderstood misinterpreted
labeled boxed
scared threatened tortured
sore tired sick weary weak
torn up worn down fed up
you are not alone

you deserve love
to love
to be loved
to choose
to decide
to be
free
to love freely

you deserve
a hand to hold
even in public
a place to go
on your best and worst day
someone to take
that hurt away
someone to understand
someone to want to
to want you
someone

so we are here
find us in the corners
of a welcoming smile
find us being bold being brave
find us feeling shy and scared
we are here
proud or pitied
targeted or tolerated or celebrated
maybe we are lonely too
maybe have been waiting for you

you are not alone
you never were
even when you didn’t know it
even when you were not lonely
we were here

so look for us
wait for us
find us
we are waiting too
we are here

with hands to pull you out of the dark
reach for them
we are with you
with ears to hear your scattered cries
release them
we will hear you
with eyes to read the story on your face
don’t be ashamed
we will listen to what you say
with hearts to love you through and through
don’t pretend
here you can be you

even when we are silent
even when we are scared
locked up put away afraid to say
we are here

we are here

we are here
you are not alone

if you feel alone and out of options, please reach for:
the trevor project
it gets better
you are loved.
